Hi Kai I am amazed at how many South African plants have been spread around the world. These grow in great profusion in the Eastern Cape and make a spectacular show of colour when they flower. Nice shots
I picked Aloe this week also. Aloe is actually somewhat of a commercial plant that is used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. There are quite a few that can take some cold (not freezing).
Your aloe is very well photographed and such a useful plant. alas, I kill all things green indoors, though I have some success outdoors. The A plants I have posted thankfully do not depend on my attention.

Wow! I've never seen an aloe plant flower. I'm impressed.
I've never seen one either! Well maybe I have but I forgot what it looked like.

Dot: This is the second plant that is doing this. I had no idea I had such a green thumb.
I don't think I've ever seen one flower either. I have them in pots, but never a flower to be seen. This is a nice picture or a pretty plant.
Sharon: What's so weird is they are sitting on the glassed in front porch where it gets really cold at night.
Nice aloe plant and interesting bloom. I haven't seen these since I lived in Hawaii.

Fantastic! My Aloe flowered for the first time last year...I was so thrilled :o)
Interesting! I`ve never had a flower on my Aloe, indoors in Norway.
It`s a useful plant. I use it on cuts, eczema etc.

It doesn't look very kind with all those thorns, but it can still be a helaing plant.

Mine flowered last year and then died. Luckily it left a 'baby' behind for me to pot up and put on the windowsill
